Buffalo in the snow
The first delicate snowflakes drifted down over the rugged expanse of Badlands National Park, each crystal catching the fading light. A solitary buffalo, massive and ancient-looking, moved deliberately through the swaying prairie grass, undisturbed by the growing silence that accompanies the season's first snow.
